It has been announced through Japanese media today that the popular school romance manga “Teasing Master Takagi-san” by Takuma Yokota will be adapted into a live-action version, directed by Rikiya Imaizumi.
Although the official announcement of “Teasing Master Takagi-san” live-action adaptation has been made, it is still unknown whether it will be presented as a movie or a TV drama.
Director Rikiya Imaizumi believes that the charm of “The Teasing Master Takagi-san” lies in the relationship between the male and female protagonists, which cannot be expressed in words but can be conveyed through visual imagery. As a filmmaker known for his ability to “tell stories through images,” Imaizumi hopes to capture this special atmosphere between the two characters.
Currently, there is no confirmed cast, production team, or airing schedule for the live-action adaptation of “The Teasing Master Takagi-san.”
Yokota, the author of the original manga, expressed his expectation, saying, “When my editor first told me about the live-action adaptation, I wasn’t quite sure what to think. But as the director was chosen and the casting process progressed, I became more and more grateful and excited. I’m really looking forward to it. I will do my best to make the manga just as good as the live-action version.”
